When building retaining walls we start with a 4”-6” base material of class 5 to ensure that the foundation of the wall is solid and can handle adverse weather without compromising its structural integrity. Then part of the first block course is buried underneath the ground level for additional strength. After that, we stack on the rest of the block courses and glue on the capstones for the finished look the homeowner desires.
